About the Lean2Pro and Shaztech Enterprises
It was around 2008 when travelling by car to a darts tournament and a weekend away with fellow players including Paul “the Asset” Nicholson, that we arrived at our destination on a Friday afternoon. After settling in to our Motel the very next thing we wanted to do was play darts and practice for the next day. Unfortunately unlike the UK, dartboards are not readily available in the Pubs here and we were unsuccessful. So it was that Friday afternoon that I realised how great it would be, if we had a portable stand that could set up a dartboard! I mentioned it to my friends and so the seed was planted. This was something I had to pursue!
I spent the next year pondering how I could achieve this. It was at my dart club when suddenly I noticed an old steel frame chair that was being thrown out. What struck me was the back legs were one piece and bent so that the back rest was angled. That was it! While the frame had to be vertical and flat against the wall, it only required the legs to be forward and it would simply lean against the wall. And so the Lean2Pro was born.
It would take another year pondering over how to go about achieving it and researching what was available before I finally produced a prototype in my own garage.
Well it worked! And it worked very well indeed. Over the next year or so, I had the opportunity to take my prototype stand with me on trips to Fiji, Thailand as well as Canada and the USA proving that the Lean2Pro was compact, lightweight and very portable.
During this time I was constantly looking for ways to simplify the manufacturing requirements. I knew how it could be done and finally a manufacturer was sourced. The first sample was received in 2012 and so with my partner the business Shaztech Enterprises was formed. The first shipment arrived in 2013 and it makes us proud to bring this product to you.
The Lean2Pro has met all the key points I was aiming for, that other available products could not.
- Lightweight at 3kg (frame and surround)
- Uses minimal wall and floor space
- Compact and easily fits into a suitcase for airline travel
- Easily assembled in minutes
- Sets the dartboard to the correct height with no adjustment and can be used to measure the throw line or oche.
- Affordably priced
